Forgive Yourself

"Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." (Ephesians 4:32 NIV)

God forgives every sin, past, present, and future, through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Have you forgiven yourself though? Have you forgiven yourself for what you did or didn’t do, what you said or didn’t say? Forgiveness can be very hard to give to yourself or anybody.

We are often our worst critics too. We need to be kind and compassionate to ourselves. The devil wants us to feel miserable and not live under the freedom of grace, through Jesus Christ. We must focus and think about good pure things always. Focus on the present, not the past. For the past is gone, the future is unknown, and the present is a gift.

Tell God your problems, ask Him to help you forgive yourself. God will give you His love and peace which transcends all understanding. Thank you God for your peace and forgiveness for every sin, little failure, and mishap. Help me to be more like you and forgive myself and others the way you forgive me, through Jesus Christ.

Thankful Thursday: Freedom

I am thankful for all of our wonderful freedoms in America. May we never take our freedoms for granted. I am thankful for so many great freedoms that many countries do not have. Freedoms can be taken away from us. Our founding fathers would be shocked at how may freedoms have been taken away from us and are slowly slipping away today. Freedom is not free, we must fight to keep our freedoms. I am thankful for all of the soldiers who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms. May we the people always fight for our freedoms with the pen and the sword.

Our founding fathers came here for religious freedom. And on the 4th of July we celebrate our Independence day and the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Thank God for our freedom of religion in America!

May we all look towards each other, ourselves, and God more for help, not the government. Remember, who governs you. The almighty God governs us. "Man will ultimately be governed by God or by tyrants." (Benjamin Franklin) Thank God for our freedom in Christ, that can never be taken away from us. Jesus Christ sets us free from bondage! Thank God for His freedom, mercy, grace, and love.

Thankful Thursday

What are you thankful for today?

I am thankful to be alive and healthy today. I am thankful to be able to spend time with family and friends this week. I am thankful to take time to just have fun in life. Life is too short, as we all know. One of the first things that Jesus did was go to a wedding. God wants us to enjoy life and take the time to have fun. There is a time for work and a time to play. Are you playing enough? If not, then get out there and start playing! Do not feel guilty about having fun, you deserve it. Enjoy your precious time and all of the wonderful blessings that God has given you.

"So I commend the enjoyment of life, because nothing is better for a man under the sun than to eat and drink and be glad. Then joy will accompany him in his work all the days of the life God has given him under the sun." (Ecclesiastes 8:15)

Love One Another

"And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us." (1 John 3:23)

We are to love one another, like God loves us. And we are to forgive each other like God forgives us. Sometimes Christians can argue over disputable issues and it is very sad.(Rom 14:1 NIV) What one person believes on disputable issues is between that person and God. If people feel convicted in their heart, then we should respect them and their choices. And if people feel they are living under the grace and freedom of Jesus on disputable issues, then we should respect their choices. (Rom 14:4 NIV) We have to be careful about not judging others and pull the plank out of our own eye. We all feel that we are honoring God in our own ways. Only God knows a man’s heart and only God can change others. (Rom 14:5-8 NIV) May we always love each other and see each other the way God sees us. We are all children of God. We believe in Jesus Christ and are all brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ! Praise God for His love, mercy, and grace!

Happy Dad's Day!

Happy Dad’s Day all you Dads out there! Thank you to all the good Dads who love your children and always make time for them. May God bless you! And may we all respect our Dads. I look around America and sometimes I see disrespect among children nowadays. And even in TV shows the Dads are portray to be dumb Dads, like Homer Simpson… Today lets all honor our Dads and tell them how much we loved them.

Or if you don’t have a Dad, then perhaps you have a father figure in your life. No matter what, we all have a heavenly Father who will always be there to watch over us and carry us in His everlasting arms. His good Word will never pass away. God bless our Dads and praise our Heavenly Father!

Thankful Thursday!

I have seen people post Thankful Thursday while dropping by other blogs and they are always so cheerful to read. I thought I would start doing Thankful Thursdays on my blog too. I searched around for the cute little picture below and found out that many different groups of blogs link together and all participate in Thankful Thursdays. And some of them write lists or just a thankful post.



So I decided to join up with the Grace Alone group, and Women Taking a Stand is hosting it now. I am not sure how the hosting process works, but I do know that we are suppose to keep it simple. All we are suppose to do is just add the image to your Thankful Thursday post.

Okay, on with the Thankful Thursday post. :) I am thankful for our wonderful heavenly Father who loves me unconditionally and always watches over me. And I am thankful to be blessed with such a wonderful earthly father, which we will celebrate this coming Sunday on Father’s day. I am thankful for my family that I am close too. And I am thankful for the time I have right now to write this post and to write at all. I am also thankful for my readers of Allykat’s Tales!

Well, I guess that is enough for now. I am going to try to do this every Thursday, but we don't have to, just when you can. I think it is important to always count your blessings and I always thank God everyday, but it is nice to have a special day out of the week to thank Him as well.

In Bible study one day we had the question, “What did you forget to thank God for over the week?” And I usually start my prayers with, thank you for everything God, and then go on to thank Him for special things that happened that day. So, that was a hard question, especially since I thanked Him for everything. However, I think God likes it when we are specific in thanking Him and I think having Thankful Thursday will help out more. Plus, it will make me more appreciative of everything I have.

God is in Control

Today Persians go to the polls to vote in the next President of Iran. These elections are rigged. “First, the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and his cabinet of clerics (the “Guardian Council”) have already chosen four presidential contenders. They denied another 450 or so applicants from even being considered. This gives you a little taste of what democracy means in Iran.”(Joel Rosenberg’s Weblog)

This is Alireza Jafarzadeh's, a leading Iranian pro-democracy dissident based in Washington, summary of the four radical leaders that have been chosen to "run.":

  • “Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, by his own admission, was part of the quintet of the Central Committee of the Office of the Unity which led and operationally oversaw the takeover of the US Embassy in Tehran in 1979. He was the special operations officer in the 6th special corps of IRGC’s Qods Force, responsible for sabotage and cross-border missions. In his current hat, he oversees his government’s expanding drive to perfect the nuclear fuel cycle and acquire the ultimate weapon.
  • “Mir Hossein Moussavi is the current reincarnation of the moderate political animal in Iran. He was a founding member of the Islamic Republic Party- think of it as the mullahs’ Third Reich. Among honors on his resume, he lists: 144 extraterritorial assassinations during the premiership, the massacre of nearly 30,000 political prisoners on the eve of the signing of the 1988 UN Iran-Iraq cease-fire accord, and the 1983 embassy and marine barrack bombings in Beirut.
  • “Mohsen Rezai ranks high in the pantheon of terror. He commanded the IRGC during the disastrous war with Iraq, with ultimate responsibility for sending tens of thousands of under-aged adults to their death in the battle fronts as human mine sweepers, many of whom were shrouded in army-issued blankets to prevent their body parts from splattering. The Supreme leader Khamenei hates America and Israel from the bottom of his heart and he will use whoever he chooses to secure his nuclear weapons.(washingtonpost) And these elections are just more time wasters to build nuclear weapons, in order to bring in their Islamic Messiah, known as the Twelfth Imam or the Mahdi.

We must remember that God is in control and He will put in to power whoever He wants, for His good purpose. We must pray that more Persians come to Jesus Christ. And fortunately more and more Muslims are seeing the light and choosing to believe in the Prince of Peace. Praise God!

We must pray for people around the world to find Jesus soon in these end times. May the peace of God, which transcends all understanding be with us all.

Set Boundaries

I have been reading this book called, Boundaries by Dr. Henry Cloud & Dr. John Townsend and it is really good. It talks about how God wants us to have boundaries and not be a doormat, pretty much.

We all need to set boundaries in life. Boundaries are good to keep us balanced. Are you a people-pleaser? It is good to want to help people and love them, but you have to also be careful you are not being taken advantage of. There are people out there that will take advantage of you, if you let them. Look for the approval of God, not of man. (John 12:43)

As Christians we may say “yes” to everybody, because we feel that we should. However, sometimes saying “yes” can actually hurt that person and you. Saying “yes” to everybody that needs something from you can exhaust you. For example, if you take on someone’s else project at work, because they fell behind, not only does it teach that person that they can get away with irresponsibility, but that takes precious time away from you and your family… (Prov.19:19, 23:13) And it may cause you to resent that person as well. Plus, saying “yes” when you really mean “no” is bending the truth. (Luke 6:26) Do not always try to be a peacemaker.

Sometimes you should help out the person, but be careful not to do it all the time. Set good healthy boundaries with your family, friends, parents, spouses, co-workers, and yourself. Do not feel guilty about it either. Boundaries help us keep the good in and the bad out. Set boundaries so you can love yourself and others better.

Balanced Life?

Do you have a balanced life? There never seems to be enough time in the day right? I know I feel like there isn’t quite enough. I strive to have a balanced life with God, work, family, friends, recreational, rest, health, and love life.

And we should strive to work on all areas in our life and not neglect any area. While also remembering that it is how your life is balanced overall.

Some days you may not be able to do some things, but don’t fret. Having a balanced life is a process and pray for God to give you strength and peace as you balance your life. You have to move with the rhythm of life and enjoy where you are. There is a time for everything. (Ecclesiastes 3:1)"To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven."

I think we also put too much pressure on ourselves when trying to live a balanced life everyday. We try to do it all and that can lead to burnout or guilt for not succeeding. Make the most out of every moment wherever you are. Life is an amazing journey, enjoy each step.

Thank God for the future and praise God for the present!

A New Start

Happy June 1st!

It is the start of a new month. The start of a new beginning. Every month, I like to look at my new goals for the month. If you did not get a chance to meet you goals last month, do not worry, today is the start of a new month. I like to set goals for the month, week, the day, and even hourly goals.

There are many type of goals: financial, family, health, mentally, and spiritual… Setting goals is very important in life. Goals give you direction, enthusiasm, hope, improved attitude, and reward! However, if you do not meet your goals, be happy anyway, because life is good. Remember to give yourself some grace, do not beat yourself up, start fresh the next month.

God is all about second chances. Praise God for second chances! And we must lean on God and His ways to meet our Goals. Trust in God and go to Him before you start planning in your head. And remember everything comes in God’s perfect timing.

Peace and grace to you as you trust in Him!

God's Amazing Grace

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9)

God’s grace is amazing! Let’s just take a moment to ponder it. None of us deserve it, we deserve hell, but because of God’s unconditional love we are forgiven, through Jesus. There is nothing we can do to get to heaven. There is nothing we can do to make God love us any more and nothing we can do to make Him love us any less. God loves us all and He gave us the free ticket to heaven. Jesus Christ paid the ultimate sacrifice for us on the cross. He paid for every one of our sins: past, present, and future.

Out of love we should obey God, but never forget that it is not by works, but by grace through faith of Jesus Christ that our sins are erased. God’s grace allows us to live in freedom and joy from condemnation in our daily life and on our final judgment.

Praise God!

Never Forget

Thank you to all the soldiers who have fought for all of our freedoms here in America! Thank you to all the soldiers who have kept America safe! Praise God! May God watch over all of the soldiers fighting now. We should not take for granted our freedoms and rights given to us by God. May we always remember those who laid down their lives to protect our freedoms. God give rest to all the fallen soldiers. May God give peace to their family members. May God bless our soldiers and bless America!

God Bless Israel!

We all want peace in the Middle East and for Israel. We just disagree on how to find the solution. President Obama finally met with Netanyahu the Prime Minister of Israel and unfortunately President Obama wants to divide Jerusalem.

Dividing Jerusalem will not bring peace. The radical Islamic terrorists will not stop until all Jews and Christians are dead, in honor of their god. True peace will not come until Jesus comes back to earth to reign for a 1,000 years. We must not fall for false promises of peace. We must not appease radical dictators nor terrorists, because we want this “peace” so much.

"While people are saying, "Peace and safety," destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape." (1 Thes. 5:3)

Lets continue to pray for Israel and support them! God promises in Genesis 12:1-3 that whoever blesses Israel, He will bless and whoever curses Israel, He will curse. I am praying for America to support Israel.

Bible Study SummerTime!

Today was my last day of Bible study. It is now summer vacation. I really enjoyed Bible study, it is the first time I have been in Bible study. My Dad read from the Bible all growing up and I attended church, but it is really nice studying the Bible in depth.

Since January I have read about the life of Moses. What a great leader Moses was, he did not want to lead at first, because he was not a great speaker. However, God uses all kinds of people to do His work! Moses was such a great leader, because he put all his trust in God first! Praise God! Moses also had to deal with the Israelites' constant complaints, which has reminded me not to complain. And God’s love shines throughout the life of Moses, for Moses was God’s friend face to face. Plus, God loves the people despite the complaints and disobedience. God’s unconditional love is amazing!

I hope to continue on with Joshua this summer in my own Bible study with my family. I will be returning to my Bible study with John, so it is not chronological, but I like all the study questions and will be excited to have read through the whole Bible in 7 years with this Bible study group. How is your Bible study going? Do you flip to any section or do you read chronologically?

Guard Your Heart

“Do not love the world or anything in the world.”(1 John 2:15)

We have to be careful not to become too worldly. As Christians we should enjoy the world and love everybody, but not be of the world. It is easy to become worldly. We should enjoy things, such as our work, positions, success, possessions, but we must not let that enjoyment become a need, demand, or obsession.

It is loving too much of worldly things when we become worldly. We do not have to avoid all worldly things as much as possible, such as certain movies, certain music, or certain clothes... We must not live in fear of the world and withdraw from it. And we should not immerse ourselves into the world in order to relate, where a Christian is not distinguisable from a non-Christian.

We must not focus so much on the externals or disregard them completely, but focus on the internal. It is within the heart, where worldliness truly lies. The Bible mentions the word heart, hundred of times, because the heart is very important. God looks into our hearts to see our true thoughts, emotions, will, values, and motives. And only God knows man’s heart.

"Again Jesus called the crowd to him and said, "Listen to me, everyone, and understand this. Nothing outside a man can make him 'unclean' by going into him. Rather, it is what comes out of a man that makes him 'unclean.' "'(Mark 7 14-15)

"As one who is in the Lord Jesus, I am fully convinced that no food is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for him it is unclean."(Romans 14:14)

"Who can say, "I have kept my heart pure; I am clean and without sin"?"(Proverbs 20:9)

"A man is not a Jew if he is only one outwardly, nor is circumcision merely outward and physical. No, a man is a Jew if he is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a man's praise is not from men, but from God."(Romans 2 28:29)

"I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you."(Psalm 119:11)

We must guard our hearts and pray to God for self-control of desiring too much of this world. Self-control is one of the fruits of the Spirit within us. "Like a city that is broken into and without walls is a man who has no control over his spirit." (Prov. 25:28)

And we must bring God with us in everything we do and put Him first, for He gave us everything. We must keep our eyes on Jesus and not let the temporary obsessions of this world distract us from Jesus. Praise Jesus Christ who overcame the sins of this world, because of Him we can be in this world and not of it. How is your heart and relationship with God by Jesus Christ?

“May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Romans 15:5-6)

Disobedience and Consequences

We are a feel good society. And in some churches it is all about feeling good too. Many churches use this feel-good talk to pull people in. And yes we should be positive and happy. God is good and wants us all to be happy and love one another.

However, I look at all of the failed marriages, adultery, children that disrespect their parents, adults that disrespect authority, complainers, greedy, all about me people, and so on…. And I wonder if perhaps we need a little reminder in our churches and beyond.

I think a little more warning of the consequences of what happens when we disobey God and His law are in order. I am not saying we need full out fire and brimstone churches, but maybe a little, in a more graceful manner.

I look back to the way people us to act and everybody was more respectful of each other in the past. I think we need a little reminder of the consequences of disobeying in this life and the next. Hell is very real and presented clearly in the Bible, we must not reduce its’ truth by mentioning it so rarely.

To mention the consequences does not deny the grace of God, who gave us His son Jesus Christ, which washes away all of our sins. God gave us His commandments because He loves us so much and wants to protect us, just like a good parent does. God is holy, good, and amazing to forgive all of us sinners.

Happy National Prayer Day!

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

The Founding Fathers of America always encouraged prayer and faith. The Continental Congress first call for prayer for the nation was in 1775. The National Prayer Day was made official in 1952 by President Truman who signed a bill into law for National Prayer Day. The National Prayer Day is a day in America when people of all faiths can come together and pray. "It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions, but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For this very reason peoples of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here." - Patrick Henry

Many Presidents throughout history have observe this day by attending events. President Bush has held an prayer event by inviting people of all faiths and holding prayers for the last 8 years.

This year President Obama has ended that tradition. President Obama will only be signing a proclamation that will be sent out in emails today. Also President Obama will not be attending the 5th annual National Catholic Prayer breakfast tomorrow. It is also very sad that President Obama refuses to recognize this nation as a Christian nation and has not attended a church since he became President, except for Easter. May President Obama believe and turn to God, through Jesus Christ and always trust in Him.

I think this nation desperately needs prayers and having President Obama remind everybody of that would have been greatly helpful. Plus, President Obama desperately needs prayers, especially since he is brand new to the Commander in Chief position. May God give President Obama the wisdom to protect this great nation.

2009 Prayer for Our Nation

Father in Heaven,

We lift our eyes toward Your Throne, where You reign in righteousness.

Your Word assures us that when Your people cry out in sincerity and humility, You will never turn a deaf ear to us.

We call upon You now, seeking Your forgiveness and favor.

Look over this fevered landscape and heal us, Lord.

Drop knees to the floor and raise eyes to the sky, for we know where our help comes from.

Manage Finances with God

The Bible talks about money over 800 times! God really wants us to manage our money well. Look towards God for advice managing finances. Trust in God first.

Pray for God to give you wisdom to manage your money effectively. God wants us to work hard, save and spend wisely, avoid debt, and give from our hearts. Here are just a few verses about money from God’s Word:

Matthew 6:33 "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."


Proverbs 21:20 "In the house of the wise are stores of choice food and oil, but a foolish man devours all he has."

Matt. 6:24 "You cannot serve both God and money".

2 Thessalonians 3:10 "For even when we were with you, this we commanded you: that if any would not work, neither should he eat."

2 Corinthians 9:7 Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

Exodus 20:17 "No lusting after your neighbor's house—or wife or servant or maid or ox or donkey. Don't set your heart on anything that is your neighbor's."

Proverbs 10:4 "Lazy hands make a man poor, but diligent hands bring wealth."

Proverbs 22:7 "The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender."


We must be careful about who we listen to in this world. Seek the Kingdom first and then wise advisors. Money is a gift from God. He gives us riches on earth to see how well we use our money. It is a test to see how we can handle true riches.

Luke 16:11 "So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches?"

Trust God First

Do you turn to God first with any of your problems? I use to always talk about my problems to myself and with others, trying to figure out a solution, and then I would pray last. I am now working on always turning to God first, before I start think of any plans.

He wants us to turn to Him first. And He is the almighty powerful God, so I don’t know why I was not turning to Him first before. God wants us to let Him guide our path, for He will not lead us into temptation but deliver us from evil. God wants to give us a life full of love, happiness, and peace of mind.

I am putting all of my trust in you God for I love you will all my heart, and all my soul, and all my strength.

May you always put God first.

(Psalm 62:8) Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge. Selah

(Romans 15:13) May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

How is Your Physical and Spiritual Training?

How is your physical training going? Do you have a good exercise routine down and getting in shape for summertime?

Look to God for help on loosing weight and exercise too. God wants you to live a full happy balanced life. Time, there is never enough of it. Make exercise a priority and stick to your schedule. (Luke 12:22) Then Jesus said to his disciples: "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear."

Be patient and love your body for it is a temple of the Holy Spirit. Keep moving forward and don’t feel guilty if you slip up. (Isaiah 43:18) "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past..

Remember to keep working on your spiritual training it is of equal or more importance. Know the Word of God and be prepared to help others in need and spread the love of Jesus. (Timothy 4:8) For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.

(1 Corinthians 9:25) Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.
