Spirit of Joy

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law." (Galatians 5:22-23)

Isn’t it wonderful that God gave us such a wonderful Spirit through Jesus Christ? He gave us a Spirit of joy not fear. I think fear comes in many forms or it can be the underlying factor of an emotion. I think worry comes from fearing something. And I think being negative or doubting yourself is based on fear.

Sometimes I doubt myself on what I can and can’t do. Well, “can’t” never did anything. :) I think I have become more positive in life, but it is a progress. And I am happy with the progress I have made and keep striving to be better, through Jesus.

We must choose to be positive in life and believe that good things will happen. We must expect good things, not bad things. God does not want us to go through life in fear of anything, for God is always with us. He did not give us a Spirit of fear, so lets go boldly with determination and joy, in Jesus Christ.

Praise God!

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." (Romans 15:13)

HI ALLY!
A FEW THOUGHTS AND SCRIPTURES...

If something is in God's timing and will, we can do it through His strength, not our own...
Philippians 4:13
"I can do everything through him who gives me strength."

Man is fallen and incapable...we cannot possibly do anything fruitful ourselves...it's God working through us to make this possible...
Mark 10:27
Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God."

Just when we think that God can't possibly use a person like us, remember, God's not finished with us yet:
Philippians 1:6
"being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."

We can do nothing fruitful on our own. Seeking Jesus first (and not service first) is the key. Sitting at the feet of Jesus first and foremost before we get caught up in other things is crucial:
John 15:5
"I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing."

When we start to think we are too weak for God to possible use us, like I have thought about myself before, remember, it's Him working through you and me, it's Christ's power, not our own. The devil wants to make us feel like we are worthless and can't possibly be used by God, but that's a lie from hell:
2 Corinthians 12:9
"But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me."

Love you God bless you!

I did a Beth Moore Bible study on the Fruit of the Spirit that was just outstanding! Here is a link to a post I wrote about the lesson on joy:
